Crash Champions in Whippany, NJ seeks an experienced auto body technician to examine damaged vehicles, plan repairs and work with a team to restore safety and appearance. You will perform repairs, decide between repair or replacement, and may supervise an apprentice, with a commission/flag pay structure tied to local wage standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to use frame machine.
• Certification in body repair preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair process by manufacturer.
• I-CAR welding certified.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting measuring data.
• Ability to supervise repair personnel.
• Must be able to pass thorough background check

Responsibilities

• Examines damaged vehicle and plans repair process.
• Communicates with others on vehicle repair status.
• Performs quality repairs with on-time focus.
• Decides on repair vs. replace considering safety, cost, and cycle time.
• Removes upholstery and trim to access areas of vehicles.
• Participates in safety meetings.
• Files, grinds, and sands repaired surfaces with tools.
• Directs an apprentice when needed.
