The primary purpose of this position is to provide districtwide attendance support and oversight for all campuses. The Lead Attendance Support serves as a central resource for campus attendance personnel and assists with maintaining accurate student attendance and related PEIMS data in accordance with District procedures and applicable state requirements.
This position provides guidance, troubleshooting, training, data review, and operational support to campus staff regarding attendance processes, student records, reporting, and related student information system functions. The position works collaboratively with campuses and Central Administration departments to identify and resolve attendance and data issues and promote consistency in attendance practices across the District.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of experience in attendance, student records, data entry, PEIMS, or a related school district function
Experience working with student information systems preferred
Experience supporting multiple campuses or providing training to staff preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of student attendance procedures and recordkeeping requirements
Knowledge of PEIMS data and related attendance reporting preferred
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient keyboarding and computer skills
Ability to use spreadsheets, databases, and student information systems
Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and assist with resolution
Ability to interpret established procedures and communicate them clearly to campus staff
Ability to provide training and technical assistance to staff with varying levels of experience
Ability to maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress and demonstrate patience and flexibility when working with campus staff, administrators, parents, students, and the public. Work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals across multiple campuses and departments. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment. Prolonged use of computers and other office equipment may be required.
