Duke University seeks an Associate Dean and Director of the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards (OSCCS) to provide strategic and operational leadership for the undergraduate student conduct system in Durham, NC.

The role ensures fair, equitable, and legally compliant conduct processes while collaborating with graduate and professional schools, campus partners, and academic units to advance education, accountability, and student learning.

Qualifications

• Required: bachelor's degree; six years’ experience in student personnel/services or related field.
• Strongly preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Duke University’s undergraduate student conduct system.
• Oversee conduct processes for fairness, consistency, and compliance with Title IX, FERPA, and the Clery Act.
• Lead and develop the Student Conduct Board and Appellate Board; manage hearing panels and assignments.
• Shape policies and procedures in collaboration with Institutional Equity, General Counsel, Residential Life and Campus Safety.
• Drive assessment, education, and campus engagement; analyze trends and measure program impact.
• Support students through crises with professionalism and confidentiality; participate in Dean-on-Call rotation.
