Qualifications

• Must hold a current Louisiana professional engineer license.

• Advanced degrees may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and review the work of engineers and technicians within the Asphalt Research Unit.
• Oversee unit operations including staffing, work assignments, schedules, training, and budget development.
• Direct the development and implementation of in-house research programs on asphalt materials and pavement performance.
• Manage contract research projects and evaluate research results.
• Provide advanced engineering guidance to DOTD officials and partners on complex transportation issues.
