Job summary
Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Technical Lead Engineer for Rocket Engine Avionics & Control Systems in Huntsville. You will own the avionics baseline, drive architecture decisions, and lead design reviews, ensuring safety and reliability across engine programs.
You will mentor engineers, manage complex risks, and coordinate with Enterprise teams to align technical execution with schedules and costs. Travel up to 10% to test sites is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor-level degree in a relevant engineering field.
- 10+ years of avionics or control systems experience.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical programs.
Responsibilities
- Own the avionics and control system baseline and define long-term roadmap.
- Lead design reviews with technical authority and ensure safety, performance, and reliability.
- Mentor engineers and drive risk management across programs.
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and mission assurance for producibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Support test campaigns and flight operations onsite or remotely.
