Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson in Florida is seeking a Principal Investigator (Archaeologist) to lead Phase I-III fieldwork, oversee projects, and contribute to reports under the Senior Archeologist. The role requires strong leadership, field supervision, and coordination with lab and office staff across projects.

Compensation ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in anthropology or closely related field.
• Must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Qualification Standards for Archaeologists.
• 5+ years of CRM experience preferred, with at least 3 years in leadership roles.
• Experience in Phase I-III fieldwork and regional Florida/Georgia/South Carolina archaeology.

Responsibilities

• Conducts archaeological field work and identifies artifacts and sites.
• Collects data and field samples during investigations.
• Analyzes historic and pre-historic artifacts and features.
• Documents methodologies and findings of research and investigations.
• Writes portions of archaeological reports and site forms.
• Assists in proposals, budgets, and marketing materials.
