Job summary

5 Star Recruitment seeks a Principal Investigator (Archaeologist) to lead Phase I-III fieldwork in Texas and surrounding states, schedule projects, supervise teams, and contribute to reports under the direction of senior staff.

The ideal candidate has a Master's in anthropology, 5+ years CRM experience (3 in leadership), and can obtain a Texas Antiquities Permit, with strong writing samples and references.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in anthropology or closely related field.
• Must meet Secretary of the Interiors Qualification Standards for Archaeologists.
• 5+ years CRM experience preferred.
• At least 3 years in leadership roles.
• Familiarity with Section 106 of the National Heritage Preservation Act and the Antiquities Code of Texas.
• Ability to obtain a Texas Antiquities Permit.

Responsibilities

• Conducts archaeological field work and identifies artifacts and sites.
• Collects data and field samples.
• Analyzes historic and prehistoric artifacts and features.
• Documents methodologies and findings of investigations.
• Writes portions of archaeological reports and prepares site forms.
