Job summary

Providence Engineering and Environmental Group LLC is seeking a Project Archaeologist for a full-time role in the southeastern United States. The position involves office and field work as part of a team supporting the Principal Investigator and clients on a range of projects.

Responsibilities include planning archaeological field projects, supervising field crews, conducting site monitoring and data recovery, and contributing to technical reports and site forms.

Qualifications

• M.A./M.S. degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
• Must meet Secretary of Interior’s professional qualifications standards and be an RPA or eligible.
• Minimum of three years of archaeological field experience; five years preferred in Louisiana / lower Mississippi Valley.

Responsibilities

• Plan archaeological field projects with the Principal Investigator and Senior Staff.
• Oversee Phase I–III field investigations and associated laboratory cataloging.
• Oversee multiple field crews and ensure safety and quality standards.
• Prepare portions of technical reports and site forms; conduct pre-field research.
