Job summary

5 Star Recruitment seeks a Principal Investigator (Archaeologist) to lead field projects in Texas and neighboring states. You will manage field crews, write report sections, and collaborate with senior staff to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Requirements include a master's in anthropology, SI standards, 5+ years CRM experience with leadership roles, and Texas Antiquities Permit eligibility. Strong GIS and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Masters in anthropology or closely related field.
• Meets Secretary of the Interiors Qualification Standards for Archaeologists.
• 5+ years CRM experience preferred.
• At least 3 years in leadership roles.
• Familiar with Section 106 and Texas Antiquities Code.
• Able to obtain a Texas Antiquities Permit.
• Experience in Texas/Oklahoma/Louisiana historic/prehistoric archaeology.
• Supervisory experience in Phase I-III fieldwork.
• Provide writing sample from thesis, dissertation, or archaeology report.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with Federal Agencies and Tribal Nations.
• Provide list of at least 3 professional references.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead Phase I-III fieldwork in TX and surrounding states.
• Schedule and manage small to medium projects and field teams.
• Write portions of archaeological reports under supervision.
• Oversee data collection and artifact analysis in field/lab.
• Assist in proposals, budgets, and marketing materials.
