Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center is seeking an Aquatic Program and Events Coordinator to oversee swim lessons, aquatic events, and related programming. You will supervise instructors, coordinate scheduling, and help administer aquatic activities while ensuring a safe and engaging environment for the community.

Responsibilities include staff oversight, program development, and customer service with a focus on quality instruction and program evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience and 2+ years of related experience as a swim instructor, aquatic coach, and/or aquatic group exercise instructor.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Experience working with the public in a front facing capacity using effective communication skills.
• Proficiency at swimming all four competitive strokes with correct form, preferred.
• Current certifications: American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED within 90 days; Oxygen Administration within 90 days; Blood Borne Pathogens within 90 days; Water Safety Instructor within 1 year; Lifeguard certification highly desirable; Adaptive Swim Recreation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight, training, and scheduling of swim instructor staff.
• Create, coordinate, assist and provide direct oversight of aquatic programming including instructional programs, special events, and 3rd Grade Swim program.
• Coordinate and maintain a physical deck presence during programmed and peak use times, including nights and weekends.
• Instruct, coach, or lifeguard aquatic programs as needed, using sound aquatic principles for all levels.
• Manage swim meet setup, events, and teardown; develop new aquatic programs with the Aquatic Manager.
• Evaluate programs to meet patron and community needs; prepare reports, registrations, budgeting documents, and data.
