Job summary

The Salvation Army's Grand Rapids Kroc Center is seeking an Aquatics Lead to help run programs, lessons and events in the aquatic center, and to supervise staff. The role emphasizes safety, training, and efficient operations.

Requirements include 3+ years in aquatic settings, some management experience, English proficiency (Spanish preferred), and ARC/CPR certifications. This part-time position offers varied shifts and opportunities to develop lifeguard leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• 3+ years’ experience in an aquatic setting.
• 1+ year’s management experience in an aquatic setting preferred.
• Professional certifications in lifeguarding/CPR/AED/First Aid recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations of the aquatic center.
• Provide oversight to day-to-day operations of programs, services, facilities, and events.
• Rescue swimmers in danger of drowning.
• Provide first aid, CPR and other emergency care when needed.
• Assist in maintaining staff training and certification records.
• Supervise aquatic staff including pool attendants, instructors and lifeguards.
• Inspect and supervise cleaning and maintenance of pool areas and facilities.
• Develop and implement swim lessons and in-service trainings.
