Job summary

The Salvation Army's Grand Rapids Kroc Center is seeking an Aquatics Lead to support program execution, swim lessons and supervision of staff, while delivering high‑quality aquatic experiences for members. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate events and trainings, conduct safety checks, perform water tests and maintain records.

The role requires strong English communication, basic Spanish helpful, and the ability to manage lifeguards and instructors.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• 3+ years’ experience in an aquatic setting.
• 1+ year’s management experience in an aquatic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations of the aquatic center.
• Provide oversight to day-to-day operations of programs, services, facilities, and events.
• Perform water chemical tests and safety drills.
• Supervise aquatic staff including pool attendants, instructors and lifeguards.
• Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for the aquatic center.
• Assist in training and instruction of staff in safety certifications and swim lessons.
