Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. seeks a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Statesville, NC to lead a team of technicians and deliver high-quality maintenance on complex aircraft.

This role emphasizes problem solving, hands-on leadership, and strict FAA guideline adherence to ensure safe, ready-to-fly aircraft. The position is full-time, on-site with a weekend day shift, offering benefits from day one including medical, dental, 401K match, and PTO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required and Airframe & Powerplant license.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred and 4+ years in program-specific airframes.
• Aircraft-specific factory training is preferred.
• Must perform all work in accordance with FAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete necessary jobs/tasks with good judgment.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Identify opportunities to reduce turn time of aircraft.
• Train/mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and ensure schedule adherence.
• Lead multiple projects; maintain work quality and initiative.
• Perform general mechanical work on aircraft and related systems.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems when designated.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components when designated.
• Coordinate aircraft movements, runs and taxiing as required.
• Maintain shop facilities, equipment and tooling.
• Collaborate with customers in project management, pricing and support.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
