Job summary

West Star Aviation in Statesville, NC is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to guide a team of technicians in delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services on aircraft and related systems. You will supervise daily tasks, perform hands-on mechanical work, troubleshoot complex systems, and coordinate project execution with customers while following FAA guidelines.

The ideal candidate has an A&P license, 8+ years of aviation maintenance, and strong leadership and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
8+ years in aviation maintenance.
4+ years in program-specific airframes.
Supervise and mentor technicians as part of daily operations.

Responsibilities

Lead the team to complete necessary jobs and tasks with good judgement and timely execution.
Implement strong turnover of work to the next shift.
Identify opportunities to reduce aircraft turn time within your area.
Train and mentor technicians assigned to projects.
Supervise team members in daily workload and ensure schedule adherence.
Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems, including panels, components, and sheet metal work.
Troubleshoot and evaluate systems, inspect aircraft and components.
Coordinate projects and communicate with customers; ensure compliance with FAA guidelines.
