Job summary

West Star Aviation in Millville, NJ seeks a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to guide a team of technicians, deliver timely, high-quality results, and manage multiple projects with strong problem-solving and technical focus.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, an FAA Airframe and Powerplant license, and 8+ years in aviation maintenance. A valid passport or driver’s license is ideal; factory training is preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• A High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
• Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete necessary jobs/tasks with good judgment and escalate when needed.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Reduce aircraft turn time where possible within area of responsibility.
• Train and mentor technicians assigned to projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and ensure schedule/quality.
• Perform mechanical work on aircraft and related systems, including panels, components, repair work, and sheet metal.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on aircraft as designated.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
• Coordinate aircraft movements, performance runs and taxiing as required.
• Maintain shop facilities, equipment and tooling to support operations.
• Interact with customers in project management, pricing and support roles.
• Communicate clearly in English.
• Follow FAA guidelines and company safety rules.
