Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Chicago, IL. This on-site role requires leading a team of technicians to complete high‑quality maintenance tasks, supervise daily work, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Applicants should have 8+ years in aviation maintenance, 4+ years on program-specific airframes, a valid Airframe & Powerplant license, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program specific airframes.
• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete jobs and tasks with sound judgment.
• Mentor and supervise technicians; ensure safe, efficient operations.
• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems; panels, components, sheet metal work.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on aircraft as designated; conduct inspections and flight/ground tests.
• Coordinate projects and communicate effectively with customers and team; maintain FAA paperwork.
