Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical work on civilian aircraft, including inspections, troubleshooting, and component installation.

The role requires an A&P license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work on-site in Chicago, IL. Candidates should be able to operate ground support equipment, perform engine work, and communicate clearly with the Lead Mechanic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Airframe and Powerplant License required.
• Valid driver’s license and/or passport ideal for travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Remove and install panels and components.
• Troubleshoot aircraft system/component issues.
• Defuel aircraft.
• Engine removal/installations.
• Operate ground support equipment.
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components.
• Communicate progress and issues to Lead Mechanic.
• Tag and store aircraft components properly.
• Navigate electronic training manuals and maintenance databases.
• Work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, weekends.
