West Star Aviation Inc. in East Alton, IL is seeking a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift. The role focuses on leading a team of technicians to deliver high-quality maintenance tasks, managing project flow, and ensuring safe, compliant operations in a hangar environment.

Required are an Airframe and Powerplant license and 8+ years in aviation maintenance with 4+ years on program-specific airframes. Superior problem solving and team leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe and Powerplant License are required.
• Driver's license valid for airline travel and/or passport ideal but not mandatory.
• Aircraft-specific factory training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to complete jobs and manage day-to-day tasks with good judgment.
• Ensure effective turnover of work to the next shift.
• Mentor and train technicians on your projects; supervise daily workload.
• Perform general mechanical work on aircraft and systems, including removal/installation and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems; conduct inspections and evaluations.
• Coordinate multiple projects; communicate with customers; participate in project management.
