Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in East Alton, IL. You will perform maintenance and inspections on sophisticated civilian aircraft, troubleshoot diverse systems, and support installations and de-fueling tasks.

The role progresses from AMT I to IV levels, requiring varying licenses and experience. Expect a fast-paced environment with strict safety and FAA compliance, competitive pay, and benefits from Day One.

Qualifications

• Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar.
• These technicians have limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance aspects.
• Technicians require close supervision of general maintenance tasks.
• Airframe license is required; in addition, Powerplant license is highly preferred
• 4-6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance (for advanced levels).

Responsibilities

• Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues.
• De-fuelling aircraft.
• Engine removal/installations.
• Operating ground support equipment.
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
• Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Communicate effectively in English.
