Job summary

Fluidstack in New York is seeking a Decision Engineering Team Lead to guide an AI-powered Infrastructure Development & Delivery group, while staying hands-on. You will set technical direction, own the team's delivery, ship high-leverage AI tools, and mentor engineers.

You’ll partner with leadership to translate strategic goals into an actionable AI tooling roadmap. The role blends architecture review with execution, demanding strong communication with non-technical stakeholders and a track

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years leading a team while still coding.
• Track record shipping production systems and internal tools that operational teams rely on.
• Production-grade code in Go, Python, and TypeScript, with full-stack web app experience.
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs and agentic frameworks.
• Deep understanding of AI coding agent tools and agent frameworks.
• Ability to review architecture and unblock engineers.
• Ownership mentality with roadmap execution and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of Decision Engineers, setting technical direction and shipping bar.
• Still build hands-on: ship high-leverage AI tools for infrastructure workflows.
• Own delivery: identify high-impact AI opportunities and turn into shipped tools.
• Design and maintain shared AI infrastructure and knowledge bases.
• Grow engineers through review, direction, and hiring.
• Partner with leadership to translate goals into an AI tooling roadmap.
