Job summary

Pearson seeks a strategic, hands-on Lead Specialist- AI Scientist to design, build, deploy, and scale production AI/ML capabilities powering learner intelligence, knowledge graphs, recommendations, and AI-powered learning experiences. This role bridges AI research, data science, software engineering, and product delivery, leading projects from concept to production.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with execution discipline and a passion for measurable learner and business

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and deploying production AI/ML systems.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, knowledge graphs, or agentic AI solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and modern software engineering practices (APIs, testing, CI/CD).
• Experience in AWS or similar cloud environments and in containerization/orchestration.
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Bedrock, LangChain, vector databases, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, deployment, and operation of production AI capabilities across Pearson products.
• Design and deliver Generative AI, LLM, RAG, and agentic AI solutions with measurable impact.
• Build reusable AI platform components, services, APIs, and workflows to accelerate AI adoption.
• Own end-to-end AI delivery lifecycle from prototyping to production and optimization.
• Establish scalable MLOps/AIOps practices for training, deployment, observability, and governance.
• Mentor engineers and data scientists and communicate strategy to stakeholders across the business.
