Pearson seeks a Lead Specialist, AI Data & Knowledge Architect to design and build the knowledge foundation for its next-gen intelligent K–12 assessment systems. The role intersects Content Development, Learning Science, Technology, AI Science, and Psychometrics, translating domain expertise into extensible computational representations.

Expect autonomy, rigorous testing, and support for predictive, graph-based, and generative AI methods.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in CS/AI/Info Sci or related field
• Demonstrated experience designing and building knowledge graphs
• Hands-on knowledge modeling and semantic schema design
• Strong command of graph and semantic technologies
• Strong data architecture, including pipelines, identity, provenance
• Strong programming ability in Python
• Deep understanding of predictive and generative AI and retrieval-grounded systems
• Track record of building novel systems with high autonomy
• Ability to translate expertise into computational representations

Responsabilités

• Design and build the knowledge graph and underlying knowledge model
• Represent standards, competencies, skills, claims, evidence and task characteristics as computable structures
• Design for extensibility across content areas and future AI capabilities
• Establish provenance, versioning and lifecycle for knowledge objects
• Separate authoritative knowledge, expert judgments and machine-generated hypotheses
• Evaluate graph and semantic technologies and build data pipelines
• Develop schemas, APIs, data contracts, and services for knowledge access
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate knowledge layer into systems
• Design retrieval and context architectures for AI/ML use of knowledge
• Prototype quickly, test empirically, and adjust direction
• Ensure responsible AI with auditable and traceable reasoning
• Collaborate with cognitive scientists, engineers and content experts
• Communicate complex architectures to diverse audiences
