Job summary

Bain & Company’s AIS team is seeking an AI Engineer to design, build, and ship generative AI systems for client impact. You’ll move solutions from prototype to production, collaborating with senior engineers, product managers, and data scientists to deliver measurable outcomes.

This hands-on role requires 3–5+ years in software/ML engineering, strong collaboration skills, and a commitment to responsible AI. In-person work three days a week at Bain offices is expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in software or ML engineering roles.
• Experience shipping generative AI features end-to-end.
• Excellent communication with cross-functional teams.
• Mentoring peers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end generative AI systems.
• Build multi-component AI pipelines (RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning).
• Implement tool-use and orchestration across AI workflows.
• Develop agentic systems with memory and modular architectures.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, data science, ethics, and infra.
• Contribute to evaluation frameworks and cost-aware design.
