Job summary

Amazon Music, part of Amazon, is seeking a Software Development Manager in Culver City to lead engineers building production systems that combine GenAI, ML, and immersive media for breakthrough customer experiences.

You will guide architectural decisions, review AI orchestration pipelines, and partner with Applied Scientists, Product, and TPM to drive roadmaps and measurable impact. Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience.
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Guide architectural decisions for services handling millions of requests with strict latency/cost requirements.
• Review code and design docs for AI orchestration, LLM integration, and content generation pipelines.
• Partner with Applied Scientists on model evaluation, prompt engineering, and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with Product and TPM on roadmap prioritization, launch sequencing, and customer impact measurement.
• Represent the team in org-wide technical reviews, operational readiness assessments, and strategic planning.
• Recruit, hire, and develop engineers who thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving AI/ML environments.
