Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Lead Agilist to coach Agile Squads, promote Scrum practices, and guide product owners in backlog management. This remote, contract role emphasizes servant leadership, empirical decision-making, and continuous improvement across teams.

The position requires 5+ years of business experience and 3+ years Scrum, with strong communication and coaching skills. W2 agreement includes a comprehensive benefits package and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-time business experience.
• 3+ years of Scrum experience.
• Strong oral and written communication; mentoring and facilitation.
• Proven ability to remove impediments outside the team.
• Coaching skills; convey complex concepts.
• Conflict resolution and mediation capabilities.
• Ability to build trust and high-performing teams.
• Working knowledge of SDLC disciplines supporting agility.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, TDD, and automated testing.
• Knowledge of Kanban, Scrumban, XP, and Mob programming.
• Use empirical data and metrics to drive decisions and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Coach Agile Squads on Agile and Scrum values, principles, and practices.
• Facilitate Scrum events and ensure value from Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Retrospective, and Backlog Refinement.
• Guide Product Owners and Development Teams in effective backlog management and clarity of outcomes.
• Promote self-organization, continuous improvement, cross-functionality, and software craftsmanship.
• Identify and help remove impediments, escalating when necessary.
• Shield teams from external interference to maintain productivity.
• Foster a safe, trusting environment for open discussion and collaborative problem solving.
• Leverage metrics and feedback loops for inspect-and-adapt improvements.
• Apply knowledge of DevOps, pipeline automation, and testing practices to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with peers and the Agile Center to improve overall team effectiveness.
• Model servant leadership and support growth of team members and stakeholders.
• Ensure risk identification, management, and reporting aligned with organizational policies.
