Job summary

Dayton T. Brown, Inc. is seeking a Lead Aerospace Wire Harness Technician to establish and lead a new harness manufacturing capability in Bohemia, NY. The role combines hands‑on production leadership with process definition, tooling selection, and collaboration across Quality, Engineering, and Program Management.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in aerospace/defense harnesses, IPC certifications, and strong problem‑solving skills to drive manufacturing readiness and on‑site leadership.

Qualifications

• Must interpret complex engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 workmanship and inspection requirements.
• Extensive hands‑on aerospace harness manufacturing experience including crimping, termination, and harness assembly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the stand‑up of a new wire harness operation, defining processes and tooling.
• Review drawings and BOMs to define manufacturing workflows and travelers.
• Establish production areas, support procurement, and implement inspection/test processes for quality.
• Provide hands‑on leadership in production, training, and technical direction to technicians.
• Interface with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, and customers as the operation scales.
