Job summary

Maitland Engineering is expanding into aerospace tooling and seeks a Manufacturing / Process Engineer to lead shop-floor operations and build scalable processes. The role focuses on establishing capacity, improving efficiency, and driving Lean initiatives while transitioning new aerospace programs to production.

You will guide machinists and engineers, partner with Engineering, and ensure adherence to AS9100/ISO13485 standards as Maitland scales its medical and aerospace capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field.
• Experience in aerospace/defense tooling or manufacturing.
• 3–5+ years of progressive experience in precision machining or manufacturing operations.
• Strong CNC machining and precision manufacturing knowledge.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T/ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing operations with strong shop-floor presence.
• Establish capacity and workflow to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
• Guide and develop machinists, engineers, leads, and production staff; foster accountability and teamwork.
• Improve machine utilization, setup efficiency, throughput, cycle times, scrap and rework; boost on-time delivery.
• Develop and standardize processes, work instructions, routings, setup docs, and production controls.
• Collaborate with Engineering to optimize CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, and processes.
• Support CNC turning and milling, including Citizen Swiss lathes; transition new projects to production.
• Use Epicor ERP and production data to manage performance and capacity.
• Support equipment selection, capital planning, automation and capacity growth.
• Establish KPIs and lead Lean/continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sales and customers.
