Job summary

ST Engineering MRAS in Maryland is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist to lead tool design and process development for composite parts, from NC programming to assembly.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Sourcing and Quality; lead tooling development, safety refinements, and cost-reduction initiatives, and drive 3D tooling and CATIA-based design updates for milling equipment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar with composite part experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in Aerospace Manufacturing or engineering related to composites or aerospace structures.
• Experience with composite bonding tooling and operations, trimming and drilling of metal/composite structures, and assembly tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and tooling leadership across tooling and processes.
• Review processes and drive refinements to increase safety for parts and people.
• Support cost reduction initiatives and provide manufacturing support on the shop floor.
• Lead zero-defect initiative and create rework instructions for manufacturing.
• Provide cycle time estimates to support MRAS capacity planning.
• Develop tooling concepts and support tool design reviews with suppliers.
• Support 3D printed tooling development and design/test of perishable tooling streams.
• Create V4 CATIA program updates for milling machines.
