Job summary

Maitland Engineering LLC is expanding into aerospace and defense tooling. We seek a Manufacturing / Process Engineer to lead shop-floor operations and build the processes, systems, and culture needed to scale the aerospace capability.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will guide machinists and engineers, develop standard work, and partner with Engineering to optimize CNC machining, tooling, and capacity. A strong background in GD&T, ERP, and Lean is required.

Qualifications

• Aerospace or defense manufacturing or tooling experience.
• 3-5+ years in precision machining, manufacturing engineering, production management, or operations.
• Proven experience leading and developing manufacturing personnel.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and precision manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of GD&T / ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with capacity planning, process development, and optimization.
• BOM creation in ERP.
• Time studies.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Experience within a formal quality management system.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, establish accountability, and develop people.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing operations on the shop floor.
• Establish capacity and workflow to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Develop and standardize processes, routings, setup docs, and production controls.
• Partner with Engineering to optimize CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, and cutting strategies.
• Support CNC turning and milling, including Citizen Swiss lathes, and transition projects from development to production.
• Use ERP data to manage performance, capacity, and continuous improvement.
• Establish KPIs and lead Lean/CI initiatives.
