Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Structures Engineer for Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT. You will join our Assembly Equipment Engineering Design team, analyzing and refining advanced assembly equipment for the next generation of aircraft engines.

You will collaborate with engineers across design, project, process, assembly and test, leading analyses and mentoring teammates in a fast-paced environment. Onsite role with potential travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in STEM required.
8 years of engineering experience or an advanced degree with 5 years of experience.
Experience with FEA software or 3D modeling software.
Ability to obtain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

Structural Analysis: perform strength analyses using classical methods and FEA tools (e.g. ANSYS Workbench).
Reporting and Communication: create detailed engineering reports and present design reviews to stakeholders.
Methods Development: contribute to initiatives to improve engineering processes and reduce NPI cycle time.
Collaboration and Project Management: work with multidisciplinary teams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Leadership and Mentorship: mentor junior engineers in structural engineering skills.
Travel is up to 10%.
