Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Lead Electrical Sustaining Engineer to join the Aerospace group at our Grand Rapids, MI office. The role focuses on momentum product improvements, reliability and quality enhancements across motor controllers, DC motors, boards, actuators and related components.

Lead initiatives, supervise engineering analyses, and coordinate cross-functional activity with operations, NPD, procurement and suppliers to sustain product viability and drive cost-effective improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in electrical engineering role.
• U.S. person per ITAR; no immigration sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Drive momentum product improvements through engineering analysis, redesign and testing of electromechanical actuators and system hardware.
• Sustain product viability through proactive evaluation and redesign of hardware with obsolete components.
• Develop test plans, specifications and general test procedures for requalification activities; coordinate requalification testing and evaluate results.
• Support Launch for New Product Development (NPD) and Supplier Product Transfer initiatives.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service and HPWT to support cost reduction and improve reliability.
• Provide technical support to operations, NPD, procurement and customers.
• Read and interpret internal specifications and recommend enhancements based on engineering analysis and field data.
