Job summary

Gogo is seeking a Lead Accounts Payable Specialist to join the Finance organization. The role emphasizes leadership in the AP team, month-end close, and strong accounting practices to manage the company’s resources. The candidate should have experience leading AP processes and a solid grounding in GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related work experience with 4–7 years in AP processing.
• Demonstrated leadership in an AP team and ability to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Primary point of contact for the AP team to resolve issues.
• Reconcile major accounts and prepare monthly GL reconciliations.
• Develop and implement record-keeping systems, forms, and procedures for AP.
• Identify, resolve issues, and elevate when necessary; ensure GAAP compliance.
• Monitor KPIs, analyze variances, and design financial reports.
• Direct, train, and supervise AP staff.

As a key member of the Finance organization, the Gogo Lead Accounts Payable Specialist is a high-energy, detail-oriented person with leadership skills and a passion for accounting and numbers. The Lead Accounts Payable Specialist performs a variety of upper-level accounting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate has experience in serving as a lead in an accounts payable team, the month-end close process and anything accounting related while learning the ins and outs of the business from the bottom up.

COME ON BOARD THE GOGO ACCOUNTING SUPPORT TEAM.

• Primary point of contact for the A/P team to work with to resolve issues that require your assistance and expertise
• Analyze major accounts and prepare monthly reconciliation of subsidiary accounts to general ledger
• Develop and implement record keeping systems, forms, policies, and procedures related to A/P
• Identify and resolve problems and inconsistencies and suggests appropriate corrective procedures; elevates issues as necessary
• Oversee compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures
• Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing cause of unexpected variance.
• Design and run Quarterly and Monthly financial reports
• Direct, train, and assign work of Accounts Payable staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance, or related work experience 4-7 years’ experience in A/P processing

• Organized and able to be a lead in the team, while managing deadlines
• Effective problem solving; methodical, detail-oriented and analytical approach to issue resolution
• Strong attention to details with analytical, organizational and research abilities
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills, Talents, & Experience

• ERP systems experience, Microsoft Business Central a plus
• Be comfortable using computers and software including, but not limited to, accounting and management information systems, spreadsheets and databases
• Experience in evaluating and streamlining processes and systems, developing and implementing policies and procedures to achieve operational efficiencies
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication and messaging skills

Base Pay: 24.60 - 30.75 USD Hourly Target Annual Short-Term Incentive: Bonus Plan at 5% (% of Annualized Base Pay) Eligible for Incentive Stock Program: Yes
