Job summary

New Chapter is seeking a Lead Accountant to provide subject matter expertise across accounting functions, supporting monthly closings for two entities and audits. The role emphasizes process modernization and training, with opportunities to improve workflow controls.

The ideal candidate has an accounting degree and 3+ years in AP, with ERP and Power Query/Power Automate skills, and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Accounting degree preferred.
3+ years of accounts payable experience including multi-state sales and use tax filings.
ERP system experience; Microsoft Business Central strongly preferred.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills; Power Query/Power Automate experience preferred.
Experience documenting processes, auditing readiness, or automating recurring accounting tasks preferred.

Responsibilities

Support on-time monthly closings for multiple legal entities.
Assist with parent company inquiries and reporting (banking, trial balance, tax).
Reconcile sub-ledgers and balance sheet accounts; remediate open items.
Oversee journal entries and accounting document processing.
Contribute to A/R, A/P, sales/use tax, and PO activities; support training.
Assist audits andUser Acceptance Testing (UAT).
