Job summary

University of California, Irvine is seeking a Lead Department Academic Personnel Analyst to oversee the academic personnel cycle, reviews of personnel files, and recruitment processes across departments and research groups. You will advise on policies, provide training, and resolve HR issues with senior officials.

The role requires extensive knowledge of policies and procedures, strong analytical and communication skills, and at least five years of related experience in an academic HR setting.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of systemwide and organization policies, union contracts, procedures and practices that govern academic HR administration.
• Excellent critical and innovative thinking to address moderately complex issues and present nuanced analyses.
• Ability to analyze complex management issues, develop project scope and solutions, give professional advice, and make critical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and analyzes a wide variety of academic personnel files and manages appointments and reviews for senate, non-senate, and visitor appointments.
• Manages academic recruitment activities, joint faculty appointments, leave requests, summer salary, NSP, and outside activities.
• Provides training and oversight; advises faculty, chairs and administrators on academic personnel matters.
