Job summary

UC Irvine’s Department of Family Medicine and Radiation Oncology seeks a seasoned academic HR professional to manage complex personnel processes and advise leadership. You will handle recruitment, appointments, merit reviews, promotions and union matters with discretion while coordinating annual renewals for faculty and staff.

Leveraging strong writing, analytical, and training skills, you will develop policies, prepare professional reports, and deliver trainings.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of UC Academic Personnel policies and procedures.
• Strong writing skills for reports, correspondence, job descriptions, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to analyze information, problems, and processes to define objectives and solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal communication with diverse campus stakeholders.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion under deadlines.
• Experience with data collection techniques and reporting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Visio.
• Ability to design and deliver training programs and presentations.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills; knowledge of California licensure laws.
• B.A./B.S. in personnel administration or equivalent experience; minimum 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage academic functions in the Department of Family Medicine and Radiation Oncology.
• Oversee recruitment, appointments, merit increases, promotions, sabbaticals, grievances, layoffs and union issues.
• Advise Chairs and Administrators on Academic Personnel concerns.
• Coordinate annual faculty renewals for full-time and part-time staff.
• Ensure compliance with UC Academic Personnel policies and procedures.
• Lead data collection and reporting activities related to personnel.
• Develop training programs and deliver presentations to groups.
• Support independent, timely completion of assignments under deadlines.
