Job summary

Amports Inc. is seeking a hands-on operations professional to lead department activities in a port-based logistics environment. You will oversee daily objectives, ensure safety compliance, manage parts inventory, and handle repair and stop orders with accuracy and timeliness.

The role emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and meticulous record-keeping. A HS diploma or GED and basic computer skills are required; a one-year certificate is preferred.

Job description

AMPORTS is a leading provider of port-based automotive and logistics services supporting customers across the United States. The Finance team supports accurate, timely financial processing and reporting at corporate and facility levels, enabling operational continuity and strong internal controls.

Compensation: $29.90 per hour

Summary/Objective

Lead and coordinate the department operations, understand objectives for the day and goals set by the supervisor.

Essential Functions
  • Ensure all Amports ports safety regulations are met and adhered to.
  • Understand objectives for the day and goals set by supervisor.
  • Know all functions and job scopes and how to perform.
  • Order, track, and maintain Parts Inventory.
  • Enter, close, and maintain Repair Orders.
  • Open and close Stop Orders.
  • Enter information in internal and customer portals.
  • Work closely with onsite customer representatives.
  • Help team in areas of need to complete tasks for the day.
  • Effective communicator in listening, writing, and verbal.
  • Standard computer functions.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize competing responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports.

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office, production setting, outdoor/indoor shop environment or enclosed vehicle with adequate ventilation and protection from extreme weather conditions.

Physical Demands

Moderate physical activity performing strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative or production/technical nature. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are primarily 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday on a day shift. This position often requires overtime.

Travel

This position does not have any travel requirements.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Education and Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Operations

Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain TWIC badge (Transportation Working Identification Credential).
