Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles seeks an experienced LDRP Clinical Registered Nurse to support labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care. You will apply evidence-based perinatal practices, document care, and ensure patient safety within a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities include assisting with labor and births, newborn assessments, SBAR communications, and collaboration with the CUS and nursing teams. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (BSN) required or within 5 years of hire.
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum nursing.
• Nursery and/or NICU experience preferred.
• Certification in related nursing specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with laboring patients, cesarean births, and vaginal births; immediate newborn, maternal and infant assessments.
• Maintains perinatal evidence-based practices and MLKCH policies/procedures.
• Documents patient care including assessment, IPOC, implementation, evaluation, education, discharge.
• Uses SBAR communications for emergencies, endorsements of care, and routine hand-offs.
• Formulates nursing diagnoses and care plans in collaboration with patients.
