Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an LDRP Clinical Registered Nurse responsible for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care, applying evidence-based perinatal practices and coordinating with the CUS and mother/baby teams. You will provide direct patient care, document, educate families, and participate in baby-friendly care while upholding MLKCH mission and core values.

A BSN and at least one year of LDRP experience are preferred; bilingual Spanish helpful.

Qualifications

• BSN required; may include degree within 5 years of hire
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery/Postpartum nursing experience
• Nursery/NICU experience preferred
• Spanish bilingual skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and maintains competencies of the LDRP RN
• Attends laboring patients, cesarean and vaginal births and newborn assessments
• Maintains SBAR communications in emergencies and routine hand-offs
• Documents patient care including IPOC, education, discharge, and nursing process
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality care
• Adheres to Baby-Friendly standards and supports patient advocacy
