Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare is seeking a Labor, Delivery, Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP) Clinical Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive perinatal care. You will work under the Clinical Unit Supervisor (CUS) of Perinatal Services, delivering care to a defined group of patients and families, and supporting MLKCH’s mission and core values.

The role emphasizes evidence-based perinatal practices, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to unit policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum.
• Nursery and/or NICU experience preferred.
• Certification in related nursing specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attends laboring patients, cesarean births and vaginal births; newborn and mother assessments and care.
• Maintains SBAR communications in emergencies and routine hand-offs.
• Adheres to Baby-Friendly model of care and unit policies.
• Documents patient care: assessment, IPOC, implementation, evaluation, education, discharge.
• Develops a nursing care plan with patient to ensure safety, comfort and prevention.
• Delegates tasks appropriately and supervises nursing care.
