Job summary

Ludico, a Tribeca Hospitality Group concept in New York, seeks a Barback to support beverage service and operations. You will stock, prep, and maintain bar areas, ensuring efficiency and cleanliness throughout shifts.

Collaborate with Beverage leadership and bartenders to deliver elevated service while handling inventory, opening/closing duties, and side work with a professional appearance and hospitality mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist bartenders throughout service by anticipating operational needs and maintaining efficient workflow.
• Stock liquor, wine, beer, mixers, ice, glassware, garnishes, and bar supplies before, during, and after service.
• Replenish bar stations quickly and efficiently throughout the shift.
• Prepare fresh juices, syrups, garnishes, herbs, fruit, and other cocktail ingredients according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar stations, coolers, storage areas, and service stations.
• Polish glassware and bar equipment to ensure presentation standards are met.
• Change kegs, replace CO2 tanks when trained, and assist with beverage equipment as needed.
• Remove empty bottles, trash, and recycling throughout service.
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.
• Receive and organize beverage deliveries.
• Label, date, rotate, and properly store all beverage products using FIFO procedures.
• Maintain organized liquor storage, wine storage, and bar storage areas.
• Notify management of low inventory, damaged products, or supply needs.
• Assist with beverage inventory counts and stock replenishment.
• Work collaboratively with Bartenders, Servers, Food Runners, Bussers, Sommeliers, and Managers.
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong sense of urgency throughout each shift.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
• Support the overall guest experience by ensuring bartenders can provide efficient and attentive service.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Ludico is a new restaurant concept from Tribeca Hospitality Group. Chef-driven European cuisine inspired by the vibrant flavors of Spain, Italy, and France. The restaurant offers an elevated yet approachable dining experience.

Position Summary

The Barback plays a critical role in the success of the beverage program by maintaining bar organization, stocking products, preparing garnishes, supporting bartenders during service, and ensuring all bar stations remain fully supplied and operational throughout each shift.

This position works closely with the Beverage Manager, Head Sommelier, and Bartenders to deliver seamless, efficient, and elevated service.

Scope

This position reports to beverage leadership and has no supervisory responsibility, though Barbacks take direction from Bartenders during service.

The Barback is responsible for anticipating bartenders' operational needs and maintaining stock and cleanliness; equipment or supply issues are escalated to the Beverage Manager or Head Sommelier.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, including cases of beer, wine, liquor, and ice.
• Ability to frequently move throughout multiple levels of the restaurant, including going up and down stairs, while transporting products and supplies.

Work Environment

Work is performed in bar and storage areas with exposure to heavy lifting, ice, and beverage equipment including kegs and CO2 tanks. Requires flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
