Job summary

Ludico in New York, NY is seeking a Bartender to prepare and serve craft cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages while delivering warm hospitality to guests seated at the bar and supporting the dining room service team.

This role collaborates with the Beverage Manager, Head Sommelier, and restaurant leadership to execute the beverage program with precision, consistency, and attention to detail in a fast-paced fine dining environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in an upscale, high-volume, or fine dining restaurant.
• Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, craft cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Wine knowledge and food pairing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Toast POS or similar restaurant POS systems preferred.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and guest service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional hospitality.
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, genuine, and professional hospitality to every guest.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established standards.
• Recommend cocktails, wines, and beverage pairings based on guest preferences and menu selections.
• Engage guests through knowledgeable and personalized beverage recommendations.
• Deliver accurate, efficient, and consistent beverage service in a high-volume environment.
• Support servers with beverage preparation for the dining room.
• Ensure all beverages are presented beautifully and consistently.
• Prepare fresh juices, syrups, garnishes, and cocktail ingredients daily.
• Maintain complete knowledge of cocktail recipes, spirits, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of all bar areas throughout service.
• Restock bar inventory, glassware, garnishes, and supplies as needed.
• Assist with opening, closing, and side work responsibilities.
• Accurately process guest checks and transactions using Toast POS.
• Support inventory counts and product rotation as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with Servers, Food Runners, Bussers, Hosts, Barbacks, Sommeliers, and Managers.
• Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude throughout each shift.
• Communicate effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
• Follow all company service standards, beverage recipes, and operational procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Ensure compliance with all New York State liquor laws and responsible alcohol service practices.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages while delivering exceptional hospitality to guests seated at the bar and supporting the dining room service team.

This position works closely with the Beverage Manager, Head Sommelier, and restaurant leadership to execute the beverage program with precision, consistency, and attention to detail. Bartenders are ambassadors of the restaurant's hospitality, delivering thoughtful beverage recommendations, engaging service, and expertly crafted cocktails in a fast-paced fine dining environment.

Scope

This position reports to beverage leadership and has no formal supervisory responsibility, though Bartenders direct Barbacks during service.

The Bartender exercises independent judgment in guest service and beverage recommendations within established recipes and responsible-service standards; escalates guest, staffing, or compliance concerns to the Beverage Manager or a manager on duty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Beverage Service

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.

Work Environment

Work is performed at a fast-paced, high-volume bar with direct guest interaction and exposure to glassware, ice, and bar equipment. Requires flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
