Job summary

Shipco Transport Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced LCL Export Operations Coordinator to join the Operations department. The role oversees customer and vendor relationships, rate negotiations, and ensuring timely department emails and KPI achievement.

You will coach and manage the team, balance loading decisions with financial and customer needs, and ensure compliance with US export laws. The position offers full-time hours and a competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and manage small to mid-size team.
• Familiar with ocean container load planning.
• Functional knowledge of IMDG and CFR-49 regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment.
• Knowledge of geography.
• Min 5 years ocean transportation experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with customers, steamship lines, truckers and warehouse.
• Negotiate rates with vendors (steamship lines, truckers).
• Ensure Department emails are addressed timely by the team.
• Assist and coach Team members in problem solving; Manage Department time and attendance.
• Ensure Department KPI's are met.
• Decision maker for loading/rolling decisions where financial matters and customer requirements are considered.
• Maintain relationships with overseas agents and ensuring agent agreements are followed.
• Ocean carrier selection.
• Ensure shipments are processed in compliance with US export laws and regulations.
• Implement procedures to improve productivity, quality, efficiency and profitability.
• Other duties as assigned.
