Job summary

Shipco Transport Inc. in Medley, FL is seeking a proactive LCL Import Supervisor to lead the import operations team at our Miami branch.

You’ll oversee daily activities, mentor staff, and coordinate with carriers, customers, and agents to ensure accurate manifesting and timely freight delivery. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, fluency in Spanish preferred, and the ability to work across time zones.

Qualifications

• Excellent organization, coaching, and delegation skills.
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of import operations, including customer service and/or documentation.
• Strong data entry skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and an aptitude for a fast-paced, multi-tasking, customer service-minded environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish-speaking is preferred).

Responsibilities

• First escalation point.
• Monitor that the group alias emails are attended to correctly and in a timely fashion.
• Assist and coach Team members in problem-solving.
• Coordinate days off in the department, in agreement with the Operations Manager.
• Handle customer-requested revisions and manifest corrections.
• Make operational decisions in the absence of the manager.
• Communicate with steamship lines, customers, and agents.
• Confirm delivery of freight upon customers’ request.
• Assist the Department Manager/Branch Manager in staff recruitment.
• Lead and direct the work in the department.
• Implement procedures to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain relationships with carriers and customers.
• Assist with closing files and suggest profit improvements.
