Job summary

BYU Law School in Provo, UT is seeking a Law School Academic Events Planner (Full-time) to lead university-level academic events from concept to on-site execution. You will partner with deans, faculty, and staff to translate goals into detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring a seamless guest experience.

The ideal candidate brings an associate’s degree with two years of event planning or administrative experience, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple events

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and project-management skills and ability to manage multiple events and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with faculty, administrators, guests, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage events from start to finish with goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate event logistics: venues, catering, travel, lodging, A/V, registration, and communications.
  • Manage vendors and internal partners, negotiating pricing and coordinating with departments.
  • Oversee on-site event execution as primary point of contact and resolve issues.
  • Handle post-event follow-up: expenses, reimbursements, records, and feedback for improvement.
  • Supervise and train part-time event staff and develop event-planning processes.
  • Maintain relationships with hosts, vendors, campus partners, and ensure policy compliance.
