Job summary

Shook, Hardy & Bacon in Illinois seeks a Billing Specialist to support the Accounting department. You will prepare and review invoices in client-specific formats, perform override calculations, and assist with payment reconciliation and aging of unbilled fees and A/R for assigned Billing Attorneys.

Collaborate with Billing Attorneys to coordinate billing, prepare reports, and ensure adherence to client guidelines and firm policies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance; 3+ years in accounting in a service sector; 1 year in law firm billing.
Experience with Elite Legal Billing System; ARCS and e-billing a plus.
Advanced Excel spreadsheet experience required.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review invoices in customized formats as required by client/Billing Attorney.
Assist with override calculations and changes.
Identify and reconcile payments received.
Pro-actively monitor aging of unbilled fees and A/R for assigned Billing Attorneys.
Coordinate billing and collection efforts with Billing Attorneys on behalf of the Accounting department.
Prepare reports and reporting against client budgets; use Elite to prepare information.
