Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky, Kentucky State Police, is seeking a Systems Administrator to support specialized law enforcement IT software and IT systems across the agency. Base location is Frankfort, KY, with in-office duties and remote support for KSP personnel and local agencies.

The role reports to the Information Systems Supervisor in the KSP HelpDesk. Requires at least two years in IT systems administration and related education/substitution options. OT eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• Two years of IT systems administration, IT systems support, or IT systems analysis experience.
• Substitute education or certifications can replace the required experience.
• Experience with law enforcement technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides support for the specialized law enforcement IT software used by KSP personnel.
• Provides support for the KSP Information Technology systems including software used by KSP employees and Troopers,
• First tier technician for all law enforcement software for the KSP employees.
• Will report to the Information Systems Supervisor for the KSP HelpDesk.
• Serves as Help Desk and Resource Person for 123 Link Agencies and 60 ICAP Agencies, assisting users with hardware, software and network questions.
• Installs and tests new or modified systems and system upgrades, performs file compressions, maintains system utilities.
