Kentucky State Police seeks a Public Safety Telecommunicator I in London, KY to serve as the critical link between troopers and dispatch services. The role supports 24-hour operations with flexible shifts and a comprehensive training program in LINK/NCIC, NCIC/EMD, and KLEC certification pipelines.

The position emphasizes rapid information relay, emergency response coordination, and skilled use of CAD and law enforcement systems to assist in investigations and public safety operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Must obtain LINK/NCIC Operator certification within 30 days of employment.
• Must obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification within 60 days.
• Must obtain Telecommunicator certification from KLEC within 12 months.
• No felony conviction per applicable Kentucky statutes.

Responsabilités

• Answer radio and telephone calls (including 911 in designated areas).
• Gather and relay pertinent information; dispatch calls to police and emergency personnel.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions during medical emergencies.
• Operate the Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system.
• Familiarity with Post region for routing and information sharing.
• Utilize nationwide law enforcement systems to support investigations.
