Job summary

O'Melveny & Myers LLP seeks an experienced litigation attorney to lead law and motion work in advance of trial and to serve as embedded appellate counsel on trial teams. The role emphasizes brief writing, case management, and written advocacy at the trial level, including dispositive and evidentiary motions, jury instructions, and verdict forms.

Qualifications

• Experience in brief writing, case management, and proficiency with all forms of written advocacy at the trial level.
• Ability to lead briefing on complex legal issues and to serve as embedded appellate counsel on trial teams.
• Leadership experience on matters and the ability to manage multiple significant matters simultaneously.
• Experience in product liability and mass tort space is a plus.
• Clerkships are preferred.

• Candidates should be comfortable serving as embedded appellate counsel on trial teams, partnering closely with trial counsel to preserve issues for appeal, develop legal strategy, and lead briefing on complex legal issues.
• Experience managing law and motion teams specifically for trial, working on MDLs, bellwether trials, and coordinated state court proceedings is strongly preferred.
• Key responsibilities include managing complex litigation workflows, coordinating across multiple teams, driving strategy in cases proceeding toward trial, and supervising junior attorneys.
• Leadership experience on matters and the ability to manage multiple significant matters simultaneously are ideal.
