Job summary

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago - North Shore Conference Center in Skokie, IL seeks a Laundry Attendant to ensure cleanliness and contribute to guest impressions. You will handle linens, follow quality standards, and support a positive team culture.

The role offers training, flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends, and opportunities to advance through our Management Development Program.

Qualifications

• Prior hotel experience is ideal but training provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; stand/walk for long periods.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Excellent English reading/writing/speaking.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Count laundry with collector to avoid discrepancies.
• Return linen to the quality standard.
• Distribute clean room linens to the floor linen closet.
• Collect rubbish bags from floor landing area and carts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that counting is done with the laundry collector to avoid discrepancies
• Ensure that all linen sent out is returned to the quality standard set by the hotel
• To distribute clean room linens to the floor linen closet
• To collect all rubbish bags from the floor landing area and carts

Requirements

• Prior experience in a hotel setting or in a similar role is ideal, but willing to train the right person. We are dedicated to thoroughly training & developing our team into hotel leaders through interactive teamwork in a positive work environment!
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
• Excellent English communication skills and able to read, write and speak fluently
• Bi-lingual (English and Spanish speaking) is a plus

$16.00 per hour
