Job summary

Tulsa Community College is seeking a grant-funded coordinator to lead LaunchPad: Social Sciences initiatives, connect students with resources, and drive retention efforts aligned with grant goals.

Under supervision, you will plan meetings, partner with college departments, and develop programming, data collection, and reporting to support student success outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Three years related work experience with college students.
  • Three years of project management and accountability for outcomes.
  • Three years of analytical skills for problem-solving with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate LaunchPad: Social Sciences students by connecting them to college resources and leading workshops.
  • Educate students about LaunchPad opportunities in partnership with Marketing & Communications and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and facilitate at least one yearly professional development for LaunchPad faculty and staff.
  • Assist in data collection for reporting and review progress with the project team.

Job Summary

This role will support the U. S. Department of Education Postsecondary Student Success Grant objectives in alignment with the college's mission, vision, and strategic goals. Under general supervision from the director and with independent judgment, this individual will be responsible for coordinating and leading PSSG faculty and staff with training, maintaining and developing collaborative partnerships, planning and leading of meetings, conducting student success programming and intervention efforts, program assessment and documentation, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

This is a grant funded position.

Essential Duties

Facilitate serving as the coordinator for LaunchPad: Social Sciences students by connecting students with college resources to increase student success by partnering, organizing, and leading LaunchPad success workshops throughout the semester, pre-semester events, along with one-on one and small group meetings.

Coordinate campaigns to educate students regarding LaunchPad: Social Sciences opportunities, while working with Marketing & Communications to promote and publicize events in collaboration and communication in the implementation process of the U. S. Department of Education Postsecondary Student Success Grant with appropriate TCC Faculty and Staff in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Institutional Research, and any related internal and external stakeholders related to the LaunchPad: Social Sciences course.

Research, develop, coordinate and facilitate at least one yearly professional development for fulltime and part-time LaunchPad faculty and staff regarding best practices for student retention and engagement, while serving as a consistent resource for LaunchPad faculty regarding best practices.

Assist in data collection for reporting, initiating regular communication with the project team to review progress on deliverables, gauge the effectiveness of programming, communications, and retention efforts.

Assist in planning, coordinating and supporting LaunchPad goals in the absence of the director. This includes delegating tasks, authorizing events and purchasing, and approving purchasing.

Other duties as assigned to help advance the vision, mission, and goals of the PSSG in alignment with TCC vision, mission, and strategic goals.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related Field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
  • Three years related work experience with college students.
  • Three years experience in working with project management and accountability for project outcomes.
  • Three years analytical skills for creative problem-solving while utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills among a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Ability to prioritize and mange time effectively across multiple projects.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas, so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and phone.
  • Ability to work exposed to outdoor weather conditions occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in education or related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to transport items weighing up to 20 pounds across offices for various needs.
